Frequently asked questions

Which pages will show the watermark?

By default, all pages in the document. The watermark is placed over the existing content.

Can I use a logo or image as a watermark?

Yes. Choose “Image or logo” and drop a PNG or JPG file. A PNG with a transparent background works best. Set the width as a portion of the page width; opacity works the same as for text. With “Horizontal” placement, you can also place the image in a corner, such as the top right of every page.

How visible should the watermark be?

An opacity of 20 to 30 percent works well: clearly visible without making the text underneath unreadable. You can adjust transparency continuously.

Can I use a watermark to hide content?

No. A watermark labels the document; the text underneath remains readable and copyable. To truly remove content, use “Redact PDF”.

Can the watermark be removed again?

Not easily. It is permanently written into the page content, so it cannot simply be turned off. Keep your original file.

Can I use accented and special characters?

Yes. The embedded Unicode font displays accented and special characters correctly.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The watermark is added locally in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
