Frequently asked questions
What happens to a scan without a text layer?
The tool detects this when you drop the file and starts text recognition right away; the language is detected automatically. You will see a notice explaining why. Once the text is ready, you can continue as usual. For mixed documents, only pages without text are recognized.
What is included in the Excel file?
Only content recognized as a table: rows and columns with borders or clearly aligned columns, even without lines, such as bank statements, price lists, and invoice line items. Each table becomes a sheet named after its page. Body text is not distributed across cells; convert to Word instead.
What happens if no table is detected?
We'll let you know instead of giving you an empty or made-up table. A common reason is that the table is an image or scan. Apply text recognition first; it usually works afterward.
Are numbers kept as numbers?
Yes. Amounts such as “1.234,56” or “1,234.56,” percentages, and values with currency symbols are written as numbers with the appropriate number format. The header row remains text and is bold.
Is my file uploaded?
Yes. Your file is transferred encrypted, processed in its own folder, and deleted immediately afterward, even if conversion fails. Up to 200 pages per file.
